JANE AVRIL (1893)
- Appearing within a matter of days after "The Divan Japonais", Lautrec presented yet another poster featuring Jane Avril. This one celebrated the entertainer's debut at the Jardin de Paris, after nearly two years of retirement. It is perhaps Lautrec's most innovative use of an enframing device in the placement of the musician's cello and it's successful isolation of Avril as the unquestioned focal point of the composition. All of the Lautrec posters are offered in quantity orders only. You may use our convenient order form, call us to place an order at: 203-438-4716 or E-mail us at: hirschfeld@georgejgoodstadt.com
